Meet Applied Spectra at Pittcon 2017

Pittcon 2017

Discover the new possibilities LA sampling and LIBS bring to your elemental analysis at our booth #5214 Pittcon 2017, March 5-9, Chicago

Improve your direct solid analysis for toxic substances, impurities, elements that are not possible with XRF and ICP, and more! Newly enhanced for 2017, the remarkable J200 Series Instrument truly innovates direct solid elemental analysis using both nanosecond and femtosecond laser pulse.

In particular, Applied Spectra has advanced and engineered our LA instrument to incorporate LIBS capability to expand elemental coverage and to extend concentration range from major down to ppb level with one laser sampling!

Recently, LIBS has received tremendous attention as an upcoming atomic spectroscopy technique that is rapid, effective for lighter and organic elements, and complementary to LA-ICP-MS. LIBS is a chemical sensor technology now on Mars!

Visit Booth #5214 to check out our J200 Tandem LA-LIBS demo instrument and talk with our technical staff about how Applied Spectra can change the way you do chemistry.

Recommended Short Course for Comprehensive Overview of LA-ICP-MS and Tandem LA-LIBS

Title: Latest Advances in Laser Ablation Direct Solid Sampling for ICP-MS and ICP-OES

Course 163 | Sunday, March 5 | 1:00pm-5:00pm

This short course, presented by Dr. Jhanis Gonzalez, provides an overview of direct solid analysis techniques provided by laser ablation. These techniques include LA-ICP-MS (Laser Ablation-Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry, LIBS (Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) and Tandem LA-LIBS in which LA-ICP-MS and LIBS work together to obtain complementary elemental and isotopic information.

Take this short course and understand how LA sampling and LIBS are used in metal alloys, Li ion battery electrodes, geologic minerals, bio-tissue, plastics, ceramics, and forensic trace evidence analysis.
