Applied Spectra Co-Sponsors Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry
January 4 – 9, 2010, Fort Myers, Florida
Applied Spectra was pleased to sponsor the 2010 Heritage Lecture given by Dr. James D. Winefordner, Professor Emeritus at the University of Florida’s Department of Chemistry. The lecture title was “Over 50 Years of Atomic Spectroscopy.”
Applied Spectra’s own scientific team member, Dr. Jhanis Gonzalez, presented a poster at the conference entitled “Precision Assessment of a Commercial Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) Instrument Based on the Analysis of Metal Samples.” The poster explained experimental results showing greatly improved precision via the use of laser auto-focus during automatic LIBS analysis.
Dr. Rick Russo, founder and CEO of Applied Spectra, also attended the conference, and will serve on the International Scientific Committee for the 2011 Winter Plasma Conference in Zaragoza, Spain.
