Applied Spectra Awarded Army DOD Phase II SBIR Funding
FREMONT, Calif. (September 7, 2006) — Applied Spectra, Inc. announced that the company has been awarded Phase II Small Business Research Innovation (SBIR) funding from the US Army Department of the Department of Defense (DOD). The main objective of this program is to develop novel detection approaches to significantly enhance the detection limits of LIBS.
“With another DOD SBIR program awarded to us, we are firmly committed to advancing LIBS technology for critical substance detection for security-related applications,” said Dr. Jong Yoo, Ph.D, Vice President of Technology and Marketing. “We look forward to improving our LIBS detection system to achieve higher sensitivity through the current Army SBIR program.”
The Phase II program contract period is two years.
